FLORENCE: April 28 Hunt Launched For Mona Lisa’s Tomb
A group of experts has launched a search in Italy for the tomb of the model who may have posed for Leonardo Da Vinci's painting Mona Lisa. The researchers’ team is reported to be using an advance radar technology at the convent in the city of Florence where the body of the woman, Lisa Gherardini, is buried. The team hopes to find the skeleton and facials bones fragraments for reconstruction, news report said. The identity of the enigmatic Mona Lisa remains one of the great mysteries. In February, Silvano Vinceti, the Italian art historian has claimed that that the model in Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece was one of his male muses, a young man named Gian Giacomo Caprotti who’s face had similarities to those of Mona Lisa and the model was not Lisa Gherardini. Leonardo da vinci was an Italian artist born in 1452. He was son of a Florentine lawyer and peasant. He was a man of astonishing qualities. He is best known for his masterpiece work of painting, Mona Lisa.
