No US Boots On Our Land, Pakistan Tells Panetta
Islamabad June 11, 2011, Leon Panetta the present US CIA Director and nominated Defense secretary of United States dashed to Islamabad on Friday without any prior information and met Army Chief General Ashfaq Kiyani and Intelligence Chief Lt. General Shuja Pasha.
Panetta was in Pakistan to express US concerns on reduction of US military officials and operative in Pakistan.
Pakistani military officials said: “Panetta expressed concerns over the reduction of trainers and operatives. We told him very clearly ‘No US boots on our soil is acceptable”
The official further said "We have drastically cut down American military officials on our land and we have redefined and reset our co-operation to only intelligence sharing with the United States", quoted a news report.
