Dr. Salim Haider, Cahairman MTI, a popular leader representing Urdu speaking community in Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah Sukker and Mirpur Khas has surfaced again in the field demanding a separate independent province for the Urdu speaking community or Muhajirs under the federation of Pakistan.

Dr Salim Haider Chairman, Muhajir Ittehad Tehrik,(MTI) was addressing a press conference at the Karachi
Press Club on Monday.  He said “All the five commissioners in Sindh are Sindhis. Out of 27 deputy commissioners, 25 are Sindhis. About 90 per cent of police in Karachi is Sindhi and Mohajirs are not getting their due share in public sectors. This discrimination has compelled Mohajirs to demand a separate province for them.”

He further said that the demand for Muhajir Suba/province was the loudest cry in urban centers of sindh.
Saleem Haider, who was one of the founding members of All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organisation, the oldest body than the party formed by Altaf Hussain later on.

Salim Haider said “We did not come here as guests. Mohajirs migrated to Pakistan according to an international agreement. About 45 per cent of Hindus moved to India and Mohajirs came to Sindh.”

Dr. Salim Haider vowed to speed up his movement and appealed to Altaf Hussain of MQM to support the  movement.
The MQM, a partner of ppp in the federal government is presently shouting in favour of a new Siraiki province.
