Al Qaeda Captured  Zinjibar City In Yemen

Sanaa  29 May 2011,
News report says that city of Zinjibar in Yemen has been captured by Al Qaeda with more than 300 heavily armed militants. Zinjibar is a coastal city and capital of Abyan province in south Yemen.

 City residents said on Sunday “About 300 militants and Al Qaeda men came into Zinjibar and took over everything on Friday” 

Zinjibar has been going through violence and protests since anti-regime demonstrators started against President Ali Abdullah Saleh in January.

Al Qaeda leaders and militants based in Yemen are viewed as the world’s most active terror groups, the news report said.
