Afghan President Karzai Warns US On Killing Civilians

Kabul:  May 29
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has expressed his dismay and anger on US air strike killing 14 Afghan children, men and women in Afghanistan.

The US air strike killed 10 children, two women and two men in the southern province of Helmand on Saturday.  Karzai reacted sharply with anger and said that it was his last warning to Washington, a news report said.

Karzai said such incidents were "murdering of Afghanistan's children and women." He further said that US-led operations were "arbitrary" and unnecessary".

The government spokesman said  "The president called this incident a great mistake and the murdering of Afghanistan's children and women, and on behalf of the Afghan people gives his last warning to the US troops and US officials in this regard,"

The spokesman further said:  "The president said that US and NATO troops have been repeatedly told that their arbitrary and unnecessary operations cause the deaths of innocent Afghans and such operations violate human and moral values but it appears that (we) are not listened to"
.
The NATO officials said that the incident and allegations are being investigated, the news report said.
