Ex-Indian Captain Pataudi’s Cousin To Become ISI Chief
New Delhi-Islamabad: May 10, 2011
Major General Isfandiyar Ali Pataudi, first cousin of Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, the former captain of Indian cricket team is likely to become the ISI chief of Pakistan.
Maj Gen Isfandiyar Ali Pataudi, who was recently appointed as deputy director-general of ISI a few weeks ago, has a good chance to replace present ISI chief Ahmed Shuja Pasha if he is asked to resign on the major intelligence failure in the case of Osama Bin Laden and American raid in Abbottabad both went undetected by Pakistani forces.
Major General Isfandiyar Ali Pataudi is the son of Major General Nawabzada Mohammad Ali Pataudi, who was the younger brother of Mansur Ali Khan's father Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan.
Major General Nawabzada Mohammad Ali Pataudi opted for the Pakistan army at the time of partition in 1947 while his elder brother opted to stay back in India, the home of his forefathers.
Intelligence agencies in Pakistan are under fire by US officials for not detecting Osma’s presence in Pakistan. At the same time Pakistani people are showing their anger on armed forces and other agencies for not knowing any thing about Osama’s presence and allowing Americans to violate the sovereignty of Pakistan. Army Chief General Ashfaq Perves Kiyani is most likely to ask Ahmed Shuja Pasha, the present ISI chief to step down, news report said.
