Infosys: From India To China


SHANGHAI: May 21, 2011
 Infosys Technologies of India has stepped into China as the chairman N R Narayana Murthy laid the foundation of a new campus in Shanghai on Saturday. The project will be the biggest software development centre of Infosys outside India.
Narayana Murthi, addressing a media conference at the occasion said:
"China has demonstrated an extraordinary pace of growth. Such growth cannot be sustained unless it is backed up by scalable, easily maintainable, easily available and easily usable information systems. That is where we believe that there is opportunity for us in China for us,"
The project of the new campus will be built in an area of 15 acres of land and has been estimated to cost 150 million US Dollar.
The Infosys campus in Shanghai when built will provide facilities for software development, data centers, labs, training facilities, and an auditorium with 1500 seats, gym, and other recreational setups.

The foundation laying ceremony was attended by Feng Guoqing, the Communist Party leader at Shanghai Municipal Corporation,Indian ambassador S.Jaishankar and other business icon of China.
