Pakistan Banned Live Broadcast

Islamabad May 8, 2011,
Pakistan electronic media regulatory authorities has banned  foreign TV channels from up linking any live broadcast or uploading any materiel for off air recording purpose.
The Pemra has accused the foreign TV channels including CNN and BBC of violating section 30 of the Pemra Act.
The PEMRA has notices to Fox News, NBC News, CNN, CNS, IBN, BBC, Al-Jazeera, Voice of America (VOA) and Sky News. They have been barred from up linking live broadcast from Abbottabad or elsewhere without valid permission.
The action has been taken by government 5 days after the American operation against Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad during last Sunday-Monday night.
