4 Chinese workers abducted in Colombia
BOGOTA – June, 9
A Chinese embassy report said that four Chinese workers of a local Emerald company were kidnapped allegedly by the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in the southern province of Colombia in the after noon of Wednesday.
The Chinese were abducted while they were travelling on road in a vehicle. They belonged to the local Emerald Company, which is an associate of China's state-owned Sinochem enterprise. They were believed to be kidnapped by FARC members in Caqueta province.
The driver has been released. Colombian security forces have launched a search operation, the news report said.
