Sarfaraz Killing: DG Rangers, IG Police Removed

KARACHI: June 14, 2011

  In pursuance of the orders issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the case of extras judicial killing of Sarfaraz Shah by Rangers, the government has removed The DG Rangers Maj. Gen, Ajaz Chaudhry and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Fayyaz Leghari from their positions today, a news report said.

Six Rangers men involved in the brutal killing of unarmed Sarfaraz Shah at boat basin in Karachi on Wednesday night has been remanded to police for 15 days.

The killing of Sarfaraz was captured by a TV channel cameraman and was telecast by all national and foreign TV channels hitting waves of shocks raising many questions. The telecast of the horrifying incident shaken the Chief justice to force a Sue Moto action.
