Saudi Arabia To Build Nuclear Power Plants

The oil rich Saudi Arabia has decided to go nuclear with a plan to set up 16 nuclear power plants at a cost of $80 billion for its power needs. The nuke plants are expected to be built in next 20 years time.
Abdul Ghani Malibari, coordinator at the Saudi civilian nuclear agency was quoted to have said that the government would float international enquiries for setting up the civil nuke reactors for power generation and water desalination, a news report said.
Malibari hopes that about 20% of Saudi Arabia’s power requirement would be met .
