Chinese tourists Gunned Down In Gilgit, Pakistan


GILGIT:  (Northern Pakistan)

Unknown Gunmen killed eleven foreign tourists including six Chinese nationals late Saturday night in the ‘Fairy Meadow ‘site at the Nanga Prabat tourists Base camp near Bunar  Nullah area of the Gilgit-Baltistan province, bordering  Kashmir and China. The armed men intruded the area wearing forces uniform.

The slain tourists were staying in a local hotel at the foot of Himalayan Range of Gilgit- Baltistan. The gunmen barged into the hotel and opened fire. Initial report said that 6
Chinese, 3 Ukraine , 1 Russian and a Pakistani tracker were amongst the dead.

Local police official said   "Unknown people entered a hotel where foreign tourists were staying last night and opened fire, ----They killed 10 foreign tourists and  fled."
Police officer further said  “Since the area is very remote with no roads or transport, their bodies will have to be retrieved by helicopter,"
Paramilitary force has been sent to the area for necessary action.

Latest report said that Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has accepted the responsibility of killing the foreign nationals.
