US President  Barrack Obama has appointed former Ambassador to Pakistan Anne Patterson as the next US ambassador to Egypt replacing Margaret Scobey who served as US ambassador to Egypt for more than three years, news reports said quoting white house officials.
Ann Patterson was US ambassador in Pakistan from July 2007 to October 2010 and was managing a crucial

Patterson is a career diplomat. She joined the Foreign Service in 1973 after graduating from Wellesley College.
Meanwhile a new Egypt is rising after the exit of Hosni Mubarak and the present Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has hinted closure link and cooperation with anti-US Iran, Hamas, and the Palestinian militant factions.
