Ohio State Football: Jim Tressel Resigned
Ohio May 31, 2011, Ohio state head foot ball coach Jim Tressel resigned on Monday morning due to an incident sprung out of NCAA violations from a tattoo-parlor scandal that damaged the image of the country’s football programs. Tressel, had guided Ohio State to its first national title in 34 years.
Tressel wrote in his resignation letter “After meeting with university officials, we agreed that it is in the best interest of Ohio State that I resign as head football coach," -------- "The recent situation has been a distraction for our great university and I make this decision for the greater good of the school."
Ohio State will not pay Tressel any money since he has resigned. Tressel had signed the contract for $3.5 million a year through the 2014 season.
Luke Fickell will be the coach for the 2011 season, the news report said.
