6.6 magniude Earthquake sruck Papua New Guinea
SYDNEY: A 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck hit the New Britain coast of Papua New Guinea on Thursday, the USGS officials said but issued no tsunami warning.
The US Geological Survey officials said it was a shallow quake at just 21 kilometers (13 miles),
while the Geosciences Australia said it was 37 kilometers.The quake hit 175 kilometers (109 miles) east of Kandrian on New Britain and 577 kilometers northeast of the capital Port Moresby.
