Chief Justice Pakistan Orders Removal Of DG Ranger, IG Police

The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhery has ordered removal of DG Rangers and IG sindh on the gruesome killing of Sarfaraz Shah in Karachi. The Supreme Court of Pakistan was   hearing the case of the extra judicial killing with a five member bench headed by the Chief Justice.
Sarfaraz Shah was killed at point blank range on Wednesday in a park near Boat Basin .The incident was filmed by a TV cameraman and its broadcast almost shocked the world with many questions on the role Pakistani security forces.

The Chief Justice took a suo moto notice of videod killing of the young man by Rangers and summoned DG Rangers Sindh Maj. Gen. Chaudhry Ejaz, Sindh Chief Secretary Abdul Subhan Memon.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the appointment of incompetent officials had led to incompetent administration. Rangers instead of stopping the target killings are themselves involved in extrajudicial killing. DG Rangers and IGP should have resigned after the Karachi incident.
Appearing before the bench, the Chief Secretary Sindh accepted the failure of civil administration and surrendered before the court upon which the court asked him to find a way out of this mess.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhery ordered to remove Director General Rangers and Inspector General of Police in Sindh within three days. He has also directed the Accountant General to stop their salaries of the two officials if they are not removed within three days.
