 Jamil Fakhri The Founder TV Actor Died In Lahore

Jamil Fakhri the renowned founder TV Artist of PTV died in Lahore on Thursday. He was not old at the age of 64. He left behind a wife and three sons.

One of his sons was found killed mysteriously in America a few months back. Jamil Fakhri never recovered from the shock after that tragedy.

Jamil Fakhri went paralyzed after suffering a stroke and was admitted into Mayo Hospital a few days back but could not survive.

A graduate born in Lahore in 1946 served National Bank of Pakistan. He started his career acting in theater with great actors of the time like Kamal Ahmed Rizvi, Athar Shah Khan, Ali Ejaz and Nannah.

He was introduced in TV by Yawer Hayat when TV first started in Pakistan. He was one of the founder TV artists on TV screen. He hit the TV box with his role of police inspector Jaffar Husain in PTV play ‘Andhera Ujala’. The re-broadcasts of the play still attracts viewers.

 His last play was ‘Sehra Teri Pyas’which  went on air on May 31st on a private TV channel.
