Jyotirmoy Dey the Investigative Journalist Shot dead In Mumbai

Mumbai, June 11, 2011. Jyotirmoy Dey (56),  a  senior investigative journalist, who was known for  covering  underworld,  was shot dead on Saturday by four motorbike-mounted criminals  firing four bullets into him  at close range.
Jyotirmoy Dey, Editor (Special Investigation) with an English tabloid Mid-Day, was riding his motorcycle. He
was followed and killed by unidentified gun men in suburban Powai in broad day light  at 3-30 pm Saturday. He was rushed to the hospital but died on the way, a news report said.
Dev was writing investigative reports on underworld  and other crimes for two decades and has many enemies around him.  Sources said that lately Dev was writing a series on Oil Mafia and for that he was receiving threats.
The police are investigating the case
