Laura Ziskin, Spider-Man Producer Died Sunday

LOS ANGELES  June 13, 2011

 Laura Ziskin, a Los Angeles national and Hollywood producer, best known for making three Spider Man movies, died   of breast cancer on Sunday at the age of 61 at her Los Angeles residence, said a news report.

Ziskin started her career working as a personal assistant. She started making features in the mid-1980s. She producer of the film   “Murphy’s Romance,” comedy-drama of 1985 for which James Garner earned an
Oscar nomination.

She was the one who helped turn “Pretty Woman” heroine Julia Roberts into a star and brought “Spider-Man” to the big screen.

She became popular by producing the three “Spider-Man” movies starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. The team bagged nearly $2.5 billion at the worldwide box office, said the news report.
