MQM Quits Government, Governor Sindh Resigns After 8 Years

Mutahiddah Qoumi Movement, the third largest political party of Pakistan and a partner in the PPP's rule has disassociated itself from the government and decided to sit on the opposition benches. Farooq Sattar. a senior MQM leader announced in a media conference here on Monday.
Farooq Sattar said: “Rehman Malik told MQM to stay away from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir

He said: “The MQM leadership reached the conclusion that it is no longer possible for the party to continue functioning as part of the Pakistan People's Party-led coalition government, keeping in view its undemocratic and dictatorial attitude,"
He further said: “MQM ministers were powerless and not allowed to work independently issues were raised in core committees with the PPP leadership on regular basis but to no avail.”
Dr. Ishratul Ibad, Governor of Sindh has also sent his resignation to the president.
Ishratul Ibad was appointed Governor on 27 December 2002 and has the record of being the longest serving Governor with a non-controversial repute.
