Shahid Afridi Says No To Disciplinary Committee

Shahid Afridi Says N
o To Disciplinary Committee

KARACHI – June 7, 2011,
Shahid Afridi, a super star and a former captain of Pakistan cricket team has appointed two lawyers, Syed Zafar Ali and Mahmood Mandiwala to manage the  legal aspect of  his conflict with the Pakistan cricket board.
Syed Zafar Ali Shah said addressing a press conference with Afridi on Monday that Afridi would l not appear before the disciplinary committee of the board. The BCCP had earlier issued notice to Shahid Afridi to appear before a three member disciplinary committee to face the charges of misconduct.

Zafar Ali Shah said “The process followed by the PCB does not conform with the law as even under Pakistan's constitution there is a right given to everyone to be heard before a case is decided,"

The PCB claimed that Afridi had violated the players' code of conduct in announcing his retirement. Reacting irresponsibly, the Board cancelled his central contract and withdrew the no-objection certificates issued to Afridi for playing
abroad.

Readers may recall that Shoaib Akhter the iconic fast baller of Pakistan cricket had also announced his retirement amidst world cup 2011 matches after being subjected to humiliating treatment by the team management. In response to Shoaib Akhter’s retirement, Ijaz Butt came out with insulting remarks on media against shoaib. --- “Usse to hila bhi nahi jata, Accha Kiya”---A million heard Ijaz Butt saying that.

Shoaib Akhter was shown the door disgracefully by the team management. The great baller deserved a better farewell with love and dignity.

Ijaz Butt is also blamed for unfair handling of Yunus Khan and Mohammad Yusuf.
